Day 6: Dachau/Wieskirche

Today we had an early start. Breakfast was at 6:45 AM and there was already a line! We ate and met in front of our hotel by 7:45 AM to walk to our coach outside the city walls. Then we were off to Dachau.  We stopped briefly for 30 minutes for a break and arrived at Dachau around 11:20 AM. We met our guide, Keith. He took us around the site and showed us where the barracks  used to be, the "showers" and crematorium, the guard houses, the reproductions of a barrack house, the memorial, and the museum. After our tour, we had time to wander around on our own before meeting our coach. Then we were off again and stopped by Andechs Monastery to visit a Beirgarten. I wasn't hungry, so I went up the hill to see the Wallfahrtskirche Church. It was beautiful inside. The organ was playing so I sat for 30 minutes and listened. Then we were off to visit Wieskirche. It is Germany's greatest Rococo-style church-the "Church In The Meadow". It truly it-horses were in the pasture next to the church and across the path was a farmhouse with chickens. Afterwards, we were off to Reutte, Austria. We arrived in town about 6:15 PM. We had a little time to settle in, then met for our group dinner at the hotel restaurant. What a day!!
