Day 20: Louvre/Paris Highlights

This is our last day! I will be sad to say good bye to to all my wonderful tour mates! Today we have a guided bus tour of Paris. Our guide is Elizabeth. We got caught up in Paris traffic (of course) and the tour lasted about 2 1/2 hours. We drove by the Army Museum, Rodin Museum, Eiffel Tower (jumped out for pictures), the Trocadero, drove along the Seine, passed the Grand Palais, Tuileries Gardens, Orsay Museum, Notre Dame, then headed for Luxembourg Gardens. Elizabeth gave us a brief tour of the gardens. Then we were back on the bus. We passed Joan Of Arc's gold statue, Opera Garnier, then headed for our visit to the Louvre. Elizabeth told us the best way to view the artwork, then set us free to explore on our own. She told us the Mona Lisa was going to be moved next week and to be sure to see it. I started at the Medieval foundations of the Louvre, the headed for the Greek and Roman statues, followed by the paintings. The alarm went off and we had to evacuate which ended my tour. I walked outside and got pictures of the pyramid and fountains, photography the golden statue of Joan of Arc, then decided to walk down to the Opera Garnier to get pictures. I returned to the hotel by 5:15 pm to get ready for our final group dinner at 6:45. We had dinner at the corner restaurant, La Terrasse Restaurant located at the end of Rue Cler. After our group dinner, Jody invited us to the Eiffel Tower to share champagne. Many of us went. I decided to stay until 11:00 pm to watch the Eiffel Tower "twinkle". This has been such an enjoyable trip and all my tour mates are the BEST! Can't wait for my next trip!
