Our train arrives. It was packed because it was a work day. Our group had to divide between two trains and meet up at the Tower Hill station.
The is the execution site on Tower Hill.

We rose early today so we could be at the Tower of London just before it opened to beat the crowds. It was a brilliant plan. We arrived about 8:45 am and we able to watch the "unlocking of the gates" by the Beefeaters, then Jeanie led us through to see the Crown Jewels. There were no pictures allowed inside. After that, we were on our own to explore until noon. A number of our group decided to join a Beefeater tour, but instead of 20 people showing up, there must have been over 100! Then it began to rain so the Beefeater set us free to explore on our own. I guess they don't do tours in the rain. I enjoyed the Wall Walk, exploring the Medieval Palace, the White Tower, Tower Green, Bloody Tower and seeing the torture devices and scaffold site.
