We departed right after breakfast for Waterloo Station to catch the train to Windsor Castle. The ride took about an hour. I enjoyed looking at the countryside. At several stops, school children boarded. When we arrived in Windsor, the train station was at the base of Windsor Castle. We walked around town for a while, went to the bridge over the Thames, then headed up the hill to the castle. Not long after we arrived at the top of the hill, we heard music. We got to witness the changing of the guard. What a delightful surprise!! Even Jeanie didn't know that was happening today. After the ceremony, we got our tickets and headed inside the Castle gates. Jeanie showed us around and the rest of the day we were on our own to explore the castle and town at our leisure. We already had our train ticket back to London, so we could spend as much time as we wanted. I took my time touring the grounds, Castle, St. George's Chapel, and Windsor town. I walked to the south side of the castle to "The Long Walk". There was a great view of the castle.
