10 Day Best Of Scotland

Rick Steves Tour

July, 2017

This is the second leg of my Rick Steves' summer of tours! I highly recommend the Rick Steves tours. The planning is taken care of for you and you go along for the ride! Free time is factored in so you can also explore on you own-which I love! Packing light, as Rick suggests, is key for me. I packed for 4 days and did wash as I went along. I was able to travel with just the carry-on (including my CPAP machine) for my month-long summer of tours!

My first leg was a week in London. Then I flew to Edinburgh and spent my first day walking the town. My second day, I took a Rick Steves' recommended tour with Rabbies. I spent the day with Nik as our tour guide and we visited Jedburgh Abbey, the Scottish borders, Steel Rigg where we walked Hadrian's Wall, Vindolanda, a Roman Fort ruins, and Caufields, one of many Roman towers along the wall that were positioned every mile. We had some rain, but it wasn't enough to hinder us. We arrived back in Edinburgh around 5:30 pm and I took advantage of the daylight and walked around the city. It was a great day.
