Urquhart Castle
Our ferry ride lasted about 30 minutes and then we saw it-Urquhart Castle! The castle is in ruins-it's owners, who supported the Crown, blew it up to keep the Jacobites from taking it. It was the largest medieval castle in Scotland. Near the entrance of the castle stands a working replica of a trebuchet-used by King Edward I to help him overtake almost every castle in the country away from the Scots.
