After our visit to Urquhart Castle, we headed for Cawdor Castle where we had a picnic lunch provided by Liz of Scottish food-various cheeses, crackers, duck, ham, herring, salmon, mussels, sweets, crisps and a variety of Scottish drinks. It was interesting and delicious. Then we were free to roam the gardens and castle itself for 1 1/2 hours. I thoroughly enjoyed the gardens. It was a lovely day. Next I took my time exploring the castle itself-which is still lived in by the Dowager Duchess Cawdor.
