Crannog Center

I woke up this morning to a light rain and mist. It was very haunting over the mountains. After breakfast, we head for the Crannog Center-circular houses on stilts on Loch Tay near Kenmore. These structures date back to 500 BC. The structure we visit is an authentic reproduction. The archeologists researched the building techniques and replicated them. Very impressive. They used the tools that would have been used at the time. Iron Age Scots built on the water for defensive reasons. Our guide is Rich. I recognized him from the Highland Games! He competed last night.
