14 Day Best of England 2016
Wall Walk
After we visited the Merchant Adventures' Hall, we were on our own for the rest of the day. I wanted to do the Wall Walk that is described in Rick Steves' Guidebook so after passing Clifford's Tower (I decided not to tour it), I followed Rick's York map and found where to walk up the stairs to enter the wall. I started my walk at Bishopgate and followed it to Lendal Bridge. I enjoyed the walk. You could get great views of the rooftops and York Minster. I ran across a family that was also carrying a Rick Steves Guidebook as they walked the wall. Some areas of the wall are narrow and have nothing to keep you from falling off the edge. You have to pay attention to where you are going!

I found the entrance to the wall. The steps are along Bishopgate Street.
These are the steps I walked up to get to the top of the wall. The wall is quite high!
Such beauty!
