14 Day Best of England 2016

Woolen Mill

After leaving Stokesay Castle, we were on our way to Wales. The drive took several hours. Just like back home, we ran into a road closure due to an accident. Our way was blocked and we had to detour. Once we found our way to the motorway, traffic was stopped on the entrance ramp due to the volume of vehicles. However, we finally made it through. Once we entered Wales, I was surprised to see mountains! We stopped at Llangollen once we entered Wales for a quick lunch break. I stopped in a market for a picnic lunch so I could spend my 45 minutes walking through the beautiful town. Jamie pointed out where to find the toilets in town (important information!). We all visited at a cost of 30 P each. As an American, I don't think I will ever get used to paying for the facilities. Oh well, just part of the travel experience. I have learned to always have change! Once we left Llangollen, we stopped on the way to Conwy to visit Trefriw Woolen Mill. I enjoyed the tour. It took us through the process of cleaning the wool, spinning it, dying it, putting it onto large spools, and weaving it. It is an amazing process. Once we left the woolen mill, we were off to Conwy. Can't wait to get there!
